First Day Fun

What a great first day of school we had in third grade!  I am so thrilled to get to know this group of kiddos, and know it will be a fantastic year!  It was definitely a new experience for all of us with our flexible environment, and a slow going day learning routines, but I know it is only gearing them up for independence and success this year!  

Today included guided discoveries of our table materials, and books as well as a classmate scavenger hunt!  We also read aloud, "First Day Jitters", and talked about our feelings coming to third grade.  Students had Art this afternoon and got their very first homework assignment!  Can't wait to see and hear about those summer souvenirs!

Open House 

I hope to see families at Dyer's Open House/ Ice Cream Social tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/31) from 5:00-6:00!  I look forward to meeting my third graders and showing off our wonderful learning space!  

Thanks to family, friends and the wonderful community around us, my Donors Choose project was completely funded! Our classroom will have 6 new Chromebook Laptops instead of desktops to more easily access necessary technology, and use technology in a more beneficial way!  I cannot wait to see what these incoming kiddos will create with this opportunity!
